Cleveland Indians outfielder David Murphy didn't particularly fair well when tasked with taking the mound during a blowout at the hands of the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday.

Making just the second pitching appearance of his 10-year career, Murphy replaced fellow position player Ryan Raburn in the ninth inning trailing 10-0 and proceeded to allow seven runs.

"He couldn't get the job done, so I had to come in there and clean up his mess," Murphy said sarcastically of Raburn.

Murphy, who served up a grand slam to Cubs rookie Kris Bryant as part of the rout, found a silver lining in the 23-year-old taking him deep.

"He's on my fantasy team," Murphy jokingly told reporters. "No, I don’t have a fantasy team. I think it was a fastball, belt high."

The pitch that Bryant launched over the wall in center field was clocked at 78 mph.
