Sam Mayer: Third at Texas

Mayer finished third in the SRS Distribution 250 Xfinity Series race at Texas Motor Speedway Saturday afternoon.

Analysis:

It was a big day for Chevy drivers and Mayer was a part of that success at Texas. He raced the No. 1 Chevrolet inside the Top 10 all afternoon at the Fort Worth oval. Although Mayer didn't have the speed to grab the lead, he would keep great track position all the way until the end. Mayer would hold off JR Motorsports teammate, Justin Allgaier, and capture a strong third-place finish at the checkered flag. It was his sixth Top 5 of the season.
