Mario Gotze voted 2nd biggest Bundesliga flop

Scoring the World Cup-winning goal against Argentina clearly had no bearing when Bundesliga players voted Mario Gotze the country's second-biggest flop.

Gotze, who joined Bayern Munich from Borussia Dortmund in 2013, finished only behind Rafael van der Vaart after 183 players participated in Kicker's annual vote of the league's biggest flops, according to ESPNFC.

Unlike Hamburg's Van der Vaart and Kevin-Prince Boateng of FC Schalke 04, who finished third, the 23-year-old was a mainstay in the Bayern Munich squad, starting 32 of the team's 34 matches. Meanwhile, Van der Vaart appeared in 24 matches, and Boateng only managed six with Schalke before he was suspended by the club for the rest of the season in May.

While it's never fun to finish at the top of such a list, Gotze likely isn't paying much attention thanks to the Bundesliga winner's medal around his neck.
