Sahalee Country Club named host of 2016 KPMG Women's PGA Championship

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

With the 2015 KPMG Women's PGA Championship currently underway, the LPGA has announced the host for next year's event - Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash.

It will mark the first time the LPGA's second major of the year takes place in the Pacific Northwest. Sahalee has previously hosted the 1998 PGA Championship and was scheduled to host again in 2010 before that event was moved to Whistling Straits.

"I think it's absolutely great for the region, obviously," said Sahalee Country Club President Steve Oaks. "For our club, we couldn't be more thrilled. To have the opportunity to host another major - and further our partnership with the PGA - is something we're very excited about."
