Carmelo Anthony: (Knee) Ahead of Schedule In His Rehab

Anthony (knee) says his rehab following surgery on his left knee is ahead of schedule, Ian Begley of ESPN reports. "I'm doing extremely well," Anthony said. "Rehab is going very, very well. I'm actually ahead of schedule (compared) to where everybody predicted I would be at this point in time."

Analysis:

This is great news for the Knicks, as last season showed how much New York struggles without Anthony in the rotation. The eight-time All-Star has not yet scrimmaged with the team, but he has been able to put shots up. Should Anthony, as expected, enter the 2015-16 season healthy, he will be at the center of the Knicks' rebuilding plan. He likely won't be alone, as New York also has the No. 4 overall pick in this coming draft and around $27 million in cap room to spend this offseason.
