Report: Petr Cech eager to stay in London

Petr Cech plans to meet with Chelsea to figure out his playing future once and for all.

The veteran net-minder only has one more year remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge, and is hopeful of sealing a move that will allow him more playing time than he experienced last season behind Thibaut Courtois.

A meeting is scheduled for Monday where Cech is expected to reveal his desire to remain in the country and continue playing in London, sources tell Sky Sports.

Earlier reports indicated Chelsea might be unwilling to sell Cech to a Premier League rival such as Arsenal, who are based in North London, but Cech's commitment to the league champions could see the team make an exception.

Cech, who arrived at Chelsea in 2004, was the team's first choice 'keeper for nine seasons before Courtois flourished into one of the world's best. The Czech Republic international played a minor role this past season, appearing in seven league matches.
