Benzema wants to retire at Real Madrid, according to agent

Manchester United's chances of luring Karim Benzema away from Spain appear grim following comments from the French international's agent.

The Real Madrid forward's representative, Karim Djaziri, denied reports suggesting he met with United chairman Ed Woodward to discuss a potential transfer to the Red Devils, saying his client remains committed to Los Blancos.

"I haven't met with any club in London. Not with United and not with anyone else. We haven't held talks with anyone other than Real Madrid," Djaziri told Spanish publication Marca (courtesy of Sky Sports).

"What is Karim going to do in Manchester? He's happy in Madrid. He doesn't want to leave. Benzema would only leave if Real Madrid told him he was surplus to requirements, because he isn't going to leave of his own accord.

"Karim wants to see out his contract. He wants to retire at Real Madrid."

Benzema enjoyed another solid season at the Santiago Bernabeu after scoring 15 league goals and providing 10 helpers during 29 appearances, and he should be a major component of new manager Rafa Benitez's plans for next season.
