Patrice Evra vows to shake Luis Suarez's hand

An old Premier League rivalry will take centre stage before the Champions League final between Juventus and Barcelona.

The world will watch the pregame handshake closely when Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra cross paths for the first time since their days in England with Liverpool and Manchester United, respectively, watching to see whether it resembles their 2012 encounter.

Evra, however, is hoping for a different outcome. He'll once again reach out to shake the Uruguayan's hand, despite not receiving an apology from Suarez after being racially abused.

"I don't want his apologies," Evra told reporters. "It doesn't matter, it's no problem for me. He will never be my best friend, but this is not a problem. When we are going to play the game, I will shake his hand.

"The past is the past. I am really proud of my colour and I will shake his hand like I did with Manchester when we play against Liverpool. My game is against Barcelona, it is not against Luis Suarez."

Suarez was suspended for using a racial slur against Evra during a 2011 Premier League match. Later that season, in 2012, the pair made headlines prior to a match when Suarez ignored Evra's outstretched hand. The French international didn't take too kindly to it, and grabbed Suarez before being separated.
