MLS Game Summary - Portland at Colorado

Commerce City, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Jack Jewsbury netted a stoppage-time winner on Saturday as the Portland Timbers claimed a nervy 2-1 win over the Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

Gaston Fernandez hit for the other goal for the Timbers, who claimed their second win of the week and first-ever victory at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

Colorado, meanwhile, struggled to generate many quality scoring chances, but capitalized on a late chance as Sam Cronin scored to give the Rapids a chance at taking a point, but Jewsbury's goal denied the home side a point.

The game's opening salvo came in the latter stages of the first half as Max Urruti got on the end of a long throw-in and drove toward the center of the box before laying it off to the left for Fernandez, who calmly slotted it low to the far post for his first goal of the season.

Colorado struck for the equalizer in stoppage time as Cronin ripped one from the top of the box past Portland goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey, but Portland netted the dramatic winner in the third minute of stoppage time as Jewsbury was left unmarked to fire home the winning tally.
