Messi mesmerizes yet again, inspires Barcelona to 27th Copa del Rey victory

Lionel Messi. That is all.

The Barcelona superstar dazzled the football world with his absurd, unfair talent once again on Saturday, scoring twice and leading the Blaugrana to a 3-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao that saw the club capture their record 27th Copa del Rey title - and first since 2012.

The double is in the books, and the treble is still very much on the cards.

Bilbao held out until the 20th minute before Barcelona's Argentine wizard brought the house down with this mind-bending goal that brought fans everywhere to their feet.

Golazo de Leo Messi

Jerome Boateng knows that feeling, guys. You're not alone. There's a hotline you can call to deal with your Lionel Messi-related nightmares.

Neymar scored the eventual winner in the 36th minute after some typically sleek passing through the midfield, and Messi added another, just because, in the 74th minute.

A goal from Inaki Williams in the 79th minute was little more than consolation.

Barcelona, who secured the La Liga crown earlier this month, will now look to complete the treble on June 6 when they take on Juventus in the Champions League final.
