Broncos' Peyton Manning: 'I get angry when I'm not coached'

When the Denver Broncos hired Gary Kubiak, many questioned if his offensive philosophy would mesh with Peyton Manning's.

Manning put those fears to rest Wednesday, telling reporters he always appreciates coaching.

"I love being coached; I get angry when I'm not coached," Manning said. "I ask a lot of questions. I certainly appreciate any insight and feedback."

Not only is Manning adjusting to Kubiak's run-heavy scheme, the coach often asks his quarterbacks to be mobile and calls bootleg passing plays with regularity. That could be a challenge for Manning.

However, Kubiak and new offensive coordinator Rick Dennison will no doubt work with the future Hall of Famer to find a happy medium that best utilizes everyone skills.

"You try to get as comfortable as you can with the coach that's calling plays, meeting with them and talking to them out on the practice field," Manning added. "I'm spending a lot of time with (Dennison), and I know coach Kubiak will be involved as well."

Despite understanding offensive playbooks like the back of his hand, Manning still knows the value of good coaching.

"I think if you ever stop listening to coaching or stop asking questions, you probably need to be doing something else."
