Cowboys' Rolando McClain underwent offseason knee surgery, sitting out OTAs

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain is sitting out this week's OTAs after undergoing a clean-up procedure on his knee this offseason, head coach Jason Garrett announced Wednesday.

Garrett explained that while the Cowboys are in communication with McClain as he continues to rehab at home in Alabama, they're unsure when he'll be able to return.

The 25-year-old was a highly productive player in his first season with the Cowboys after coming out of an early-career retirement, recording 87 tackles, two interceptions and one sack in 13 regular-season games.

With Sean Lee returning from a season lost to a knee injury, he and McClain will combine to lead a linebacker group that should become a strength of the defense going forward.
