Steelers' Antonio Brown on contract: 'Money's not important to me'

When Antonio Brown missed some voluntary workouts last month, reports surfaced that he was holding out for a new contract. That was news to Brown.

The Pittsburgh Steelers receiver showed up a few days later and said the absence was due to the birth of a child. At Tuesday's OTAs, he said his contract is not an issue.

"This is a community that I love," Brown told Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. "My kids go to school here. I want to keep a good reputation. Obviously money's not important to me. I've got enough. The organization has extremely blessed me. I'm ready to play football."

After signing a six-year, $43-million in 2012, Brown has developed into one of the league's elite receivers. He added that his contract is "not my business to discuss."

If Brown is unhappy with his current deal, he isn't letting it be distraction to his teammates and knows he still has a lot to prove.

"Every year I've got something to prove," Brown said. "I've got new guys trying to take my spot. I've got guys that want to be better than me. I've got to stay hungry."
