Greg Hardy's 10-game suspension appeal set for Thursday

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy will have his suspension appeal heard Thursday in Washington, the team announced.

Coming off a season in which he missed all but one game after being placed on the commissioner's exempt list, Hardy will contest the additional 10-game ban handed down following the league's investigation of his involvement in a domestic violence incident in May 2014.

"The NFL's investigation concluded that Hardy violated the Personal Conduct Policy by using physical force against Nicole Holder in at least four instances," the league said in a statement on April 22.

Hardy's market was slow to take shape as a free agent earlier this year, due in large part to his off-field issues, but the defensive end later landed with the Cowboys on a one-year deal worth up to $13.1 million.

Just days after the league discipline was first announced, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the possibility of his suspension being reduced to anywhere between two and six games upon appeal.
