Report: Chelsea prefers to sell Petr Cech abroad, not to Arsenal

Reuters

Arsenal's interest in signing Petr Cech has long been established. Having David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny as your two goalkeepers can have that sort of effect.

Yet, despite their obvious interest in acquiring the veteran shot-stopper - who is expected to leave Chelsea this summer in search of more playing time - actually landing Cech could prove to be a completely different matter.

ESPN FC reports that Arsenal is concerned that Chelsea, in order to avoid strengthening a direct rival, will attempt to engineer a deal that sends the 33-year-old to Paris Saint-Germain.

Cech, whom Jose Mourinho remains hopeful of retaining, spent much of the past season on the bench, starting just six Premier League matches while Thibaut Courtois solidified himself as the No. 1 'keeper at Stamford Bridge.
