Report: Vikings' Adrian Peterson won't attend start of OTAs on Tuesday

Adrian Peterson isn't ready to play nice with the Minnesota Vikings just yet.

The Vikings running back will not be on hand when the team starts organized team activities Tuesday, according to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

This isn't exactly earth-shattering news, as Peterson has yet to show up to the team facility this offseason. However, he is getting close to the point where his absence could become costly.

Peterson has a $250,000 workout bonus he won't receive unless he is present for 90 percent of OTAs and minicamps, according to Tomasson. The Vikings have another seven days of OTAs in early June and then a three-day mandatory minicamp later that month.

Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports is reporting someone in Peterson's "inner circle" has indicated this is the running back's way of saying he wants a trade. Considering the draft has already passed and the Vikings have never wavered on their stance about keeping Peterson, it seems unlikely they would move him at this point.

Of course, the 30-year-old could also report at any time, and head coach Mike Zimmer stated last week he had an indication of when the team would be seeing Peterson. Although, that doesn't appear to be this week.

Peterson made it clear he was upset with the support he received from the organization during his legal troubles last fall, but Minnesota opted not to trade its disgruntled superstar. He is scheduled to make nearly $13 million this season and it remains to be seen if that is enough for Peterson to put his feelings toward the Vikings aside and report to work.
