Valencia secures Champions League qualification with victory over Almeria

They did their best to make it difficult for themselves, but in the end, Valencia did just enough.

Los Che secured Champions League qualification on Saturday with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Almeria, fending off a challenge from Sevilla for the final berth in Europe's premier club competition in the process.

Nuno's men fell behind twice at the Estadio Mediterraneo, but after battling back on each occasion, they got an 80th-minute goal from Paco Alcacer that was ultimately enough to seal fourth place in La Liga.

Assuming they successfully traverse the always tricky qualification round, Valencia will return to the Champions League for the first time since 2012-13.
