Sami Khedira confirms he'll leave Real Madrid this summer

Real Madrid will likely be in need of a new manager this summer, and now they'll also be looking for an additional midfielder.

Seldom-used German international Sami Khedira confirmed Saturday on his official Instagram account that he will be moving elsewhere this summer, putting an end to a five-year spell in the Spanish capital.

Valdedebas for the last time. I am moving on but I will surely miss my club Real, all of its staff and my unbelievable teammates! Guys, it was one heck of a ride!!! #thankyou #halamadrid

Khedira, 28, has played a meager 370 minutes between La Liga and the Champions League this season, hampered by injuries before becoming little more than an afterthought upon his return to fitness.

A bona fide starter in his first two seasons at the club after arriving from Stuttgart in 2010, Khedira's influence began to wane over the last two years - thanks in no small part to a torn ACL that he suffered in November 2013 while on international duty.

Despite his lack of playing time this season at the Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder remains in the prime of his career, and will certainly add some solidity to whichever team is lucky enough to sign him this summer.
