Dolphins' Derrick Shelby on Dion Jordan: It's a bad situation

After being suspended for the entire 2015 campaign as a result of his third substance abuse policy violation, Miami Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan doesn't appear to be maintaining communication with his teammates at this point in the offseason.

Fellow defensive end Derrick Shelby recently indicated to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald that his recent efforts to reach out to Jordan have gone unanswered.

"It's a shitty situation," Shelby said. "I've texted him a few times but got no response."

Having appeared in just 26 games since joining the Dolphins as the third-overall pick in the 2013 draft, and starting in only one of those contests, Jordan's future with the team can be considered uncertain at best.

While the talent that made him such a coveted prospect should give him a chance to contribute at the NFL level when he returns, it remains unclear whether the Dolphins will be the team willing to give him that opportunity.

Jordan was hit with two separate suspensions to start the 2014 season, keeping him on the sideline for Miami's first six games.
