Carolina Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin is expected to miss next week's OTAs after suffering a hamstring strain last week, according to Jonathan Jones of The Charlotte Observer.

Benjamin is expected to be with the team despite not participating in practice and the move is being described as precautionary.

The second phase of OTAs begins next Tuesday for several teams.

The second-year receiver is expected to team up with second-round pick Devin Funchess to give quarterback Cam Newton two big-bodied targets. In his rookie season, Benjamin caught 73 passes for 1,008 yards and nine touchdowns.
