A key reinforcement should be arriving for the Toronto Blue Jays early next week.

Shortstop Jose Reyes is expected to be activated from the disabled list for Monday's series opener with the Chicago White Sox, manager John Gibbons revealed Wednesday.

Reyes, who has been sidelined since April 27 with a cracked rib and a muscle strain, is expected to join Triple-A Buffalo for a rehab assignment beginning Thursday in order to get back into game shape.

The four-time All-Star was slashing .250/.266/.300 in 16 games prior to suffering the injury.

Toronto is 9-12 since Reyes hit the DL.
