The Winnipeg Blue Bombers selected defensive back/linebacker Garrett Waggoner in the CFL's Supplemental Draft.

The 6-foot-1, 225-pound defensive juggernaut played five seasons at Dartmouth College, appearing in 42 games, and holds the school record for most games played by a student-athlete.

Throughout his collegiate career, Waggoner accumulated 212 total tackles, three interceptions and two forced fumbles.

As part of supplemental draft protocol, teams submit draft picks in a type of auction, and the team with the best offer gets the player. Subsequently, the Blue Bombers must now forfeit their 2016 first-round draft pick.

The supplemental draft is held for players who committed as Canadian prospects too late for the 2015 CFL Draft. The only other player taking part in this year's supplemental draft is Jarret Chapman, who wasn't selected.
