Wall (wrist) will have a specialist look at his wrist this week, but he said Monday that he doesn't expect to undergo surgery for the fractures in his left hand and wrist, Yahoo! Sports reports.
Analysis:
Wall missed Games 2, 3 and 4 of the Wizards' second-round series against the Hawks, but returned to play Games 5 and 6 while the wrist was still in the process of healing. The point guard admitted that he was "very sore," but he emerged from the series without any further damage. Considering Wall has five non-displaced fractures, it's certainly an encouraging sign that surgery won't be necessary. He'll likely still face several weeks of rehab, but it doesn't look to be anything that will impact his status for the start of training camp in the fall.
