Victor Valdes: 'I don't know' if De Gea is leaving United

Don't ask Victor Valdes about the future of teammate and compatriot David De Gea. He has no idea what's going to happen.

De Gea, who left Sunday's 1-1 draw against Arsenal with a hamstring injury in the second half, is widely expected to leave Manchester United this summer as rumors of a move to Real Madrid persist.

Valdes, who made his debut with the Red Devils upon replacing the 24-year-old, was asked after the contest if he has any insight into De Gea's plans this summer.

"It's a question you would have to put to David," he said. "I cannot answer for him. I don't know (if he's leaving).''

The former Barcelona shot-stopper did, however, offer some advice to his teammate, saying that while Real Madrid is one of the most prestigious clubs in the world, his current side isn't too shabby either.

"Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United are three of the biggest clubs in the world," Valdes said. "Everyone in the world wants to play for these clubs."
