Brothers Bo Levi and Corey Mitchell reunite once again

Chemistry between a receiver and quarterback is hard to attain.

Although, when you're the starting quarterback for the defending Grey Cup Champions, and your receiver is your brother - who you have thrown to and played with more than anyone else in your life - forming that dynamic may not be too difficult.

That is now the case for Bo Levi Mitchell, 25, and brother Corey, 27, who the Calgary Stampeders signed as an import receiver Thursday.

"We've been on many teams together," Corey said, surrounded by a crowd of reporters.

Among the teams Corey alluded to are baseball, where they were coached by their father, and more importantly, football.

The brothers played two seasons together at Eastern Washington University, donning bright red colours for the Eagles. Corey's path to Eastern strikes a resemblance to his signing with the Stamps.

In 2010, Bo Levi transferred from Southern Methodist University to Eastern, urging Corey to join him. Bo was the projected starter at Eastern, and told his coaches they should give Corey a look. They complied, without guarantees of a roster spot.

Bo Levi would lead the team to their first national championship (Division I FCS), while Corey redshirted. Then, in 2011, Corey and Bo's wish to play together was finally granted.

"It was like a dream come true. I wish we could have played together longer," Corey said in 2013, when asked about the experience of playing with his little brother.

"It's just the instant chemistry whenever he looks at you and calls a play, you know he's going to throw to you and you know where the ball will be, and it's just like playing catch in the backyard. It was an awesome experience and maybe one day we'll get to play together again."

Now they have the opportunity to do it again, and at the professional level.
