It took Atlanta Braves rookie Jace Peterson 155 at bats to hit his first big league home run, but it was likely worth the wait.
The 25-year-old took Miami Marlins right-hander Mat Latos deep in the second inning Saturday for a 410-foot grand slam to right-center field.

A first-round pick by the San Diego Padres in 2011, Peterson entered the game hitting .270/.336/.300 with two extra-base hits and 20 strikeouts in 32 games.
The blast marked the first time since 2001 that a Braves player recorded a grand slam as their first-career home run, according to Mark Bowman of MLB.com.
