Kyle Busch tops All-Star Race practice

From the results of Friday's Sprint All-Star Race practice, you wouldn't know that Kyle Busch hadn't been behind the wheel of his No. 18 Toyota at all this season.

The 30-year-old missed the first 11 races of the 2015 season after he fractured his right leg and left foot during the NASCAR XFINITY Series opener at Daytona in February.

Yet, Busch didn't skip a beat, topping the leaderboard after the 90-minute Sprint Cup Series practice session at Charlotte Motor Speedway. His fastest lap clocked in at 188.884 mph, just ahead of Jamie McMurray (188.396 mph).

McMurray is the reigning All-Star Race champion, claiming the $1-million prize in 2014.

Kevin Harvick finished third (188.258 mph) in Friday's practice run, followed by Kurt Busch (188.121 mph) and Denny Hamlin (187.696 mph).
