The B.C. Lions announced the signing of linebacker Cody Acker and defensive backs Derrick Morgan and Jeremiah Johnson on Thursday. The three Maryland natives were scouted at the team's free-agent camp in Washington, D.C., in April.

Acker played for Morgan State, recording 165 tackles in 45 games.

Johnson dressed in 36 total games for the Maryland Terrapins, tallying 71 solo tackles during his NCAA career.

Morgan played 11 games for Stony Brook in 2013 following a transfer from Texas-El Paso, finishing the season with 27 solo tackles and one interception.

Each player will attend a mini-camp in Kamloops, British Columbia, on May 28.

The Lions released fullback Akwasi Antwi and defensive back Matt McGarva.
