Tony Allen: I'll play in Game 6 'at whatever percent I'm at'

The Memphis Grizzlies' season is on the line after their Game 5 thrashing at the hands of the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, which means it's time to pull out all the stops.

Tony "First Team All-Defense" Allen, who missed Game 5 due to a lingering hamstring injury, has officially been listed as questionable for Friday's Game 6.

That designation doesn't appear to mean much to Allen, who is determined to play and offer whatever he can muster to help his team stave off elimination.

"I'm definitely going tonight," Allen said Friday. "I want to be in this battle with my teammates."

Allen also wanted to play Wednesday, but was held back by the Grizzlies' coaching staff. His absence was enjoyed by the Warriors, especially Stephen Curry. The NBA MVP only had 18 points, but all of them came from downtown, as he had more time and space without Allen's suffocating presence on the floor. Curry added seven rebounds, five assists and six steals.

Grizzlies head coach Dave Joerger said he deliberately kept Allen out of Game 5 in order to give him three full days to heal up.

"His injury is pretty severe," Joerger said. "We wanted to give him a chance to be as close to 100 percent as possible."

Allen went through morning shootaround Friday and estimated he's about 60 percent healthy. Still, 60 percent of The Grindfather is a more destructive perimeter defender than the majority of NBA wings. The Grizzlies will take whatever they can get.
