Report: Tevez interested in joining MLS, representatives contact league

Major League Soccer is coming for all your stars, Europe.

Weeks after Grant Wahl reported that Cristiano Ronaldo would prefer a move to Los Angeles if he did indeed cross the Atlantic, Sports Illustrated's lead soccer reporter claims another attacking star is mulling a move to North America: Carlos Tevez.

The Juventus star, 31, is reportedly interested in joining MLS, with his representatives having already contacted the league over the possibility of a move.

Wahl elaborates:

Tevez is 31 and has one more year on his contract with Juve. There has been talk of his interest in going back to Boca Juniors in his native Argentina, and Tevez certainly wouldn’t come cheaply, especially if it was this summer on a transfer fee. But two of the people I spoke to told me Tevez's interest in coming seems genuine and not just a leverage play on Juventus.

Indeed, Tevez has been heavily linked with a move back home to Boca Juniors, where he spent the first three years of his professional career. That has long been the expectation once his time with the Italian champions came to an end.

Apparently, there's a third option.
