Bosh played in 44 regular season games before being hospitalized after suffering from a blood clot in one of his lungs. He was forced to sit out the final 30 games of the season, but in the 44 games he did play, he still managed to average 21.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. He is expected to make a full recovery heading into next season.

Analysis:

This was the first year of Bosh's new five-year, $118 million contract, and while health concerns got the best of him this year, it appears as if Bosh will serve as the main offensive threat for Miami for at least the next few seasons. However, Bosh may be playing a slightly different role next season with the emergence of big man Hassan Whiteside. Bosh had grown accustomed to playing the center position, but now, with Whiteside proving his worth as a starting center on both ends of the floor, it is very likely that Bosh moves back to the power forward position, a spot on the floor he played for many years before. Regardless, next season, as long as he can stay healthy, Bosh will look to regain his place as one of the best scoring forwards in the NBA and lead the Heat back to the playoffs.
