Frank de Boer won't be strolling along the touchline at St James' Park next season following his commitment to stay with Ajax for another season.

According to his agent, the Dutch manager - who has been linked to a move to Newcastle, replacing John Carver as manager - will remain in the Eredivise and has not been contact by the Tyne and Wear team.

"Frank has informed Ajax he will stay next season." agent Guido Albers revealed to Bryan Swanson of Sky Sports.

"Frank will not be leaving the club in the summer. There have been many approaches from other clubs, not Newcastle, but he is happy at Ajax."

Since being named manager in 2010, De Boer led Ajax to four straight Eredivisie titles before finally relinquishing the Dutch crown to PSV Eindhoven, who clinched the league title in April.

Meanwhile, Newcastle look like a certainty to be in search of a new manager following Carver's frustrating time with the team. The club have only won two games under him since taking over in January following Alan Pardew's appointment as Crystal Palace manager.
