Sturridge announced on Instagram that he had hip surgery Tuesday.

Sturridge has been battling the hip ailment for well over a month, and he was believed to be in the United States to help with his rehab. However, the trip turned out to be more serious, and the surgery will certainly rule him out for the rest of the Premier League season, with the hope that he can be fully fit for the start of next season.
