The Boston Bruins are entering the next phase in their search for a new general manager.
The list of candidates has been narrowed to four, with a second round of interviews set to begin soon, according to Joe McDonald of ESPN Boston.
Among the finalists is Bruins assistant GM Don Sweeney, who is considered the favorite due to his long-standing relationship with the club. Former Pittsburgh Penguins GM Ray Shero - a finalist for the job back in 2006 - and New York Rangers assistant Jeff Gorton are also believed to be top candidates.
Bruins president Cam Neely and CEO Charlie Jacobs reportedly want to take their time in the hiring process as they seek to replace Peter Chiarelli, who was let go back on April 15.
