Guardiola hits back at Kehl: 'When you're trailing by more than 35 points ... '
The war of words continues following Borussia Dortmund's penalty-shootout win over rivals Bayern Munich in the semifinals of the DFB-Pokal.
After Bayern missed all four of their penalties - two of which involved players slipping and one of which smashed the crossbar - club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge took aim at the performance of referee Peter Gagelmann, saying: "We played against 12 men today."
Rummenigge's blame game triggered a reaction from Dortmund defensive midfielder Sebastian Kehl, who stated: "If Bayern can't take penalties, they have to practice them. I think it's crazy Bayern now try to put the blame on the referee."
Not about to let his side lose the banter battle, Pep Guardiola chimed in on Friday, pointing Kehl in the direction of the Bundesliga table with what he called "some advice."
"When you're trailing by more than 35 points (in the Bundesilga), you should ..." said Guardiola, who then proceeded to put his finger to his lips. He subsequently added: "Now we have time to practice since we're already champions."
