Lillard, who played in all 82 regular season games for the third time in as many campaigns, wants to sign a rookie extension in the offseason, The Oregonian reports. In his exit interview Thursday, he said, "For me, this is where I want to be. Whatever we need to do to make that happen, we'll make happen."

Analysis:

After three impressive seasons to begin his career, Lillard has been aptly honored with the 2012-13 NBA Rookie of the Year award as well as All-Star Game nods in both 2014 and 2015. In the playoffs for the second consecutive year, he was unable to muster similar magic to his series-clinching three-pointer against the Rockets last season. However, during the recently completed series versus the Grizzlies, he still managed 21.6 points (on 41 percent shooting), 4.6 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.0 three-pointers in 40 minutes per contest. Lillard is clearly a mainstay in the Blazers' future plans, but with only four other players under contract heading into the summer, the roster around the point guard could be vastly altered.
