VIDEO: Andre Drummond says mom once gave him free-throw shooting tutorial

Over three NBA seasons, Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond has grown into a dominant force – an improving interior scorer, an explosive pick-and-roll finisher and arguably the best rebounder in the game. 

One thing that continues to hold him back, though, is his inept free-throw shooting. Drummond is a career 39.7 percent shooter from the stripe, effectively encouraging opponents to just wrap him up anytime he catches the ball near the hoop. 

Here, Drummond tells of the time – after he airballed two freebies in a game – when his mother dragged him out of bed at 6 a.m. to give him a tutorial. 

Says Drummond: "It was probably the most disturbing thing I've ever witnessed in my life."
