Report: Manchester United eyeing Lloris if De Gea leaves for Real Madrid

Reuters

Manchester United will be ready if the dominoes start to fall.

ESPN FC reports that the club has already identified a replacement should superstar goalkeeper David De Gea leave for Real Madrid this summer - a rumour that has long been circulating and refuses to go away.

That man is Tottenham shot-stopper Hugo Lloris.

With De Gea, whose contract expires in 2016, yet to sign a new deal, speculation continues to grow that the Spaniard is inching closer to a return home, with Real Madrid a known suitor thanks to the age - and deteriorating play - of club icon Iker Casillas.

Lloris, 28, would prove an ideal replacement for De Gea should these deals come to fruition, with his similar skillset making him one of the world's premier shot-stoppers.
