Report: Cowboys haven't spoken to Vikings about trading for Adrian Peterson

The Dallas Cowboys may seem like a logical landing spot for Adrian Peterson if the Minnesota Vikings are willing to trade him, but that appears to be nothing more than speculation at this point.

Dallas hasn't even spoken to Minnesota about a Peterson deal, according, Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said recently he didn't believe the team would deal draft picks for a veteran, and given the draft is in four days, Peterson joining Dallas seems highly unlikely.

Robinson goes on to say the Arizona Cardinals aren't willing to trade their first-round pick for Peterson and, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network notes, it seems the likely scenario at the moment is the 30-year-old will remain with the Vikings in 2015.

Any deal for Peterson would almost certainly have to contain draft picks, so if nothing happens in the next week, expect him to be wearing the purple and gold for the time being.
