Report: Buccaneers receiving trade calls for No. 1 overall pick

Kim Klement / USA TODAY Sports

Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston continues to be the favorite to be selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the No. 1 overall spot in the upcoming NFL draft, but that's provided the club chooses to keep the pick.

With just days until the first round officially gets underway, the Buccaneers have been receiving calls from multiple teams inquiring as to what it would take to acquire the top selection, as reported by Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports.

No such deal has taken shape as of yet, and, as Getlin added, there has yet to be a proposal strong enough for Tampa Bay to consider.

The odds of a trade happening in the No. 1 spot are quite slim, but at least being open to the possibility could benefit the Buccaneers should a team in pursuit of either Winston or Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota make an offer they can't refuse.

Either way, Tampa Bay has a number of options to consider at the top of the draft, with the most enticing one still being the addition of a potential franchise quarterback.
