The Philadelphia Flyers may already have a new head coach in mind.

The Flyers reportedly might be interested in former Edmonton Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins, Sportsnet's Damien Cox reported on Hockey Night in Canada's Saturday Headlines segment.

Cox reported that the Flyers are looking for a new coach and that Eakins was on their list of possible suitors.

Eakins was fired by the Oilers on Dec. 15 after they jumped out to a dismal 7-18-5 record in their first 30 games.

Meanwhile, the Flyers are in the market for a new bench boss after relieving Craig Berube of his duties just over a week ago. Berube served as the Flyers head coach for two seasons going 75-58-28 in that time.

The team finished 14 points outside of the playoffs this season with a 33-31-18 record.
