Blazers' Afflalo, Kaman expect to play in Game 3 against Grizzlies

Some good news for the Portland Trail Blazers: Shooting guard Arron Afflalo and backup center Chris Kaman both expect to play in Game 3 on Saturday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Blazers trail the first-round series 2-0.

Afflalo didn't play in the first two games of the series in Memphis due to a strained right shoulder that also kept him out of Portland's last three regular-season contests. The Blazers have been thin without their wing, who became the team's fourth-leading scorer after being a trade deadline acquisition from the Denver Nuggets.

"I felt better, just good to compete," said Afflalo. "I guess there’s no time for trying to get to 100 percent, you just get out there and give it your best.

"If we were up 2-0, you could take more time. But that’s not the position we’re in, so we’ve got to do what we’ve got to do."

Kaman is also confident he can make a return after sitting out Game 2 with a sprained left ankle.

"I know once I tape it and get the right drugs in me, everything will be good … I’m ready to play (on Saturday)," Kaman said.

The Blazers lost the first two games of the series by 14 and 15 points, respectively, and will be looking for a jolt from Kaman and Afflalo's return and their fans at the Moda Center.
