The Toronto Blue Jays were hopeful to have slugger Jose Bautista return this weekend, but he remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Bautista, who had been dealing with a sore shoulder for about a week, aggravated the injury Tuesday when he attempted to throw out Delmon Young in the seventh inning of the Blue Jays' 13-6 win over the Baltimore Orioles. He has not played since.

"It's hard to predict exactly when I'm going to be back playing, but I feel much better, could be (Monday), could be the day after, we'll just have to take it day-by-day, I guess, just like the initial report was," Bautista told Shi Davidi of Sportsnet. "But I feel night and day from when the injury originally occurred."

Bautista is hitting .149/.322/.426 with four home runs and 10 RBIs in 14 games.
