Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson wins injunction appeal, will fight at UFC 186

It looks like Quinton Jackson will compete after all.

'Rampage' won an emergency appeal of a court-ordered injunction, allowing him to compete at UFC 186 in Montreal against Fabio Maldonado, according to ESPN's Brett Okamoto.

The duo will square off in the co-main event on Saturday at the Bell Centre. Their fight was initially pegged at light heavyweight, but has since been flipped to a 215-pound catchweight.

UFC president Dana White was, of course, pleased with how the court ruling played out.

"We are happy with the decision from the New Jersey court, allowing Rampage to fight in Montreal this Saturday night," White said. "I am looking forward to seeing Rampage back in the Octagon."

The fight was nixed earlier this month after Bellator MMA obtained an injunction that would prevent Jackson from appearing in the UFC.

Jackson's former employer claimed that he was still under an exclusive contract with the promotion that he signed in January 2014. A month earlier, he announced that he had legally terminated the deal due to numerous contract breaches made by Bellator.

Bellator released a statement, saying that although it supports the court's decision, it isn't too pleased with the outcome.

"We are gratified that the Appellate Division did not disturb part of the Chancery Division order enjoining Jackson, but are disappointed that they reversed the injunction as to the April 25 fight," the promotion said. "We continue to believe that Judge (Karen. L) Suter's decision was thorough, well-reasoned and correct and are evaluating options."
