Thiago Motta omitted from PSG's Champions League squad due to hamstring injury

Paris Saint-Germain's hopes of overturning a 3-1 deficit versus Barcelona received a kick in the teeth on Sunday, as Thiago Motta was omitted from PSG's squad for the second leg of the Champions League tie.

Motta, who suffered a hamstring injury during PSG's 3-1 win against Marseille in early April, was initially given a recovery period of 10 days by manager Laurent Blanc and missed the first leg of the tie at the Parc des Princes.

However, Tuesday's fixture at the Camp Nou will mark 16 days since Motta sustained the injury and PSG will once again be forced to look at alternative options in their midfield.
