In search of upgrades on their special teams units, the Buffalo Bills appear to be targeting a former player currently available on the free-agent market.

Nine-year veteran Brad Smith is meeting with the Bills on Tuesday.

Smith spent the first five years of his NFL career with the New York Jets, playing the last two under new Bills coach Rex Ryan, before moving on to Buffalo for two-plus seasons from 2011-2013.

If signed, Smith would again provide the Bills with a special teams standout, as well as someone who can add depth at wide receiver.
