VIDEO: Kevin Garnett throws out 1st pitch at Twins' home opener

Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Kevin Garnett is no George Bush, but he didn't embarrass himself like a slew of others have when he threw out the ceremonial first pitch for the Minnesota Twins' home opener Monday.

The Minnesota Timberwolves veteran - wearing the jersey of Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett - lobbed a strike to Twins outfielder Torii Hunter in front of a packed house at Target Field.

"We all saw what 50 Cent did, so I think KG has been practicing at home," Hunter said

Garnett certainly one-upped 50 Cent, but Bush's first pitch before Game 3 of the 2001 World Series remains the gold standard.
