Wizards sign Will Bynum for remainder of season

Brad Mills / USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Wizards have signed guard Will Bynum for the remainder of the season, the team announced Monday.

The Wizards signed Bynum to a 10-day contract on March 27 after his season with the Guangdong Southern Tigers in China's CBA was finished.

Bynum has recorded one assist, two turnovers and two fouls in eight minutes played over three appearances with the Wizards. The 32-year-old has career averages of 8.1 points and 3.3 assists.

The Georgia Tech product won't find much time in a backcourt that includes John Wall, Bradley Beal, Ramon Sessions, Garrett Temple and Martell Webster, but is a decent find as an emergency insurance option.

Bynum spent six seasons with the Detroit Pistons after a couple years in Israel and a cup of coffee with the Golden State Warriors.
