Martin Truex Jr.: Runner-up Finish at Texas

Truex Jr. finished second in the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 500 at Texas Motor Speedway Wednesday night.

Analysis:

The Joe Gibbs Racing star overcame starting from the rear of the field to charge to the front at Texas. Truex made it all the way to second-place by the end of stage 1 and he'd race among the leaders the rest of the way. The driver of the No. 19 Toyota would lead 53 total laps in the middle portion of the event. Truex would try to run down leader Kyle Busch over the closing laps, but would fall just 0.468-seconds short at the checkered flag. It was his 14th Top-5 finish of the season.
