And so, one man's 2014-15 season will live to see another Daye.

With his second 10-Daye contract expiring on SaturDaye, the Atlanta Hawks signed forward Austin Daye for the remainder of the season. They also tacked on a non-guaranteed deal for 2015-16, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The Hawks can continue to use Daye in a pinch, and, as they've already locked up the Eastern Conference's No. 1 seed, he should get some burn down the stretch as they rest starters.

But with the playoffs beckoning and Mike Scott nearing a return from a toe sprain, Daye is likely not long for the rotation.

Still, the Hawks appear happy to have him on board.

"Austin has done really well and we feel good about having him with us," coach Mike Budenholzer said Friday.

Since being plucked from the D-League on March 15, Daye – who began the season with the San Antonio Spurs – has played in five games, averaging three points and 1.4 rebounds in 6.6 minutes.
